Biography:

Dr. Hoang Pham is Distinguished Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ. Before joining Rutgers, he was a senior engineering specialist at the Boeing Company, Seattle, and the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Idaho Falls. His research interests include software reliability, system reliability modeling, maintenance, fault-tolerant computing, data mining, and environmental risk assessment.

He is the author/coauthor of 5 books: Software Reliability Assessment with OR Applications (Springer, 2011), Maintenance for Industrial Systems (Springer, 2010), System Software Reliability (Springer, 2006), and Reliability and Optimal Maintenance (Springer, 2006), and Software Reliability (Springer-Verlag, 2000). He is the editor of 8 books including 2 handbooks: Springer Handbook of Engineering Statistics (Springer, 2006) and Handbook of Reliability Engineering (Springer-Verlag, 2003). He is the editor of Springer Series in Reliability Engineering and the editor of World Scientific Series on Industrial and Systems Engineering. He has published 125 journal articles, and over 85 conference papers and book chapters, and is the editor of over 25 conference proceedings. He has delivered over 25 conference keynotes and plenary speeches.

He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Reliability, Quality and Safety Engineering, (www.worldscinet.com/ijrqse) and associate editor of five journals. He was Guest Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Reliability, IEEE Trans on Systems, Man and Cybernetics (Part A), Journal of Systems and Software, International Journal of Modeling and Simulation, International Journal of Systems Science, IIE Transactions and IEEE Communications. He is an editorial board member of several journals including International Journal of Systems Science, Journal of Computer and Software Engineering, International Journal of Performability Engineering, and the International Journal of Plant Engineering and Management. He has been conference chair and program chair of over 30 international conferences and workshops and is currently Conference Chair of the 19th ISSAT International Conference on Reliability and Quality in Design, August 2013.

He received the B.S. degree in Mathematics, B.S. degree in Computer Science, both with high honors, from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, the M.S. degree in Statistics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
